Competition to include $500,000 in prizes for entrepreneurs from around the world with disruptive and scalable business ideas

BOSTON (August 9, 2017) – Forbes announced today that, for the second consecutive year, it is partnering with Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary, Founding Partners of Sound Ventures, as well as Boston-based Rough Draft Ventures (powered by General Catalyst), to host a $500,000 Global Change The World Competition for early stage entrepreneurs under the age of 30 who have disruptive and scalable business ideas.  This competition will take place during the fourth annual Forbes Under 30 Summit, October 1-4 in Boston.

Four finalists will pitch their companies on stage at the Forbes Under 30 Summit on Monday, October 2, to a panel of judges that will include Ashton Kutcher, Guy Oseary, Peter Boyce and Mike Perlis, Forbes Media CEO and Executive Chairman. One winner will be selected and announced on Monday, October 2. Rough Draft Ventures fellows will screen the business plan submissions.

About the Forbes Change The World Competition

Rough Draft Ventures (powered by General Catalyst) and Sound Ventures may each invest up to $100,000 towards the winning company, for a total of $200,000 for the top startup. Forbes will offer $300,000 in an in-kind media grant, bringing the total prize to $500,000.

Ashton Kutcher, Guy Oseary and Forbes have committed to a three-year partnership, from 2016 through 2018, to host competitions for entrepreneurs under the age of 30.  Forbes hosted a similar competition during last year’s Forbes Under 30 Summit in Boston.

Submissions will be accepted August 9 – September 1.  To qualify for the competition, one of the co-founders must be under the age of 30 (born after October 2, 1987).
