[July 11, 2017- New York, USA] Global Startup Ecosystem (GSE)  returns with the 2nd annual digital startup accelerator program to be hosted in 7 global regions. The program for 2017 is free for the selected 700 companies and will be facilitated by over 50 global speakers.

GSE piloted the concept of a 3-day accelerator program in the Caribbean to source exceptional entrepreneurs from Haiti. The call for applications created a viral buzz with 1000+ sign ups via social media. 100 companies were selected from 13 countries across the Caribbean. Entrepreneurs from other markets also submitted their application for the program. Due to the global reach of the application submissions, GSE piloted the same program structure in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia immediately after. Within 6 months 500 companies across 63 countries completed GSE’s digital accelerator program in 2016. GSE immediately became the first and fastest growing digital accelerator program in the world.

GSE accelerator programs are open to all small businesses, startups, and freelancers. Each application round is rolling admission until the top 100 are selected per region. A selection is then made for the top 10 companies from each applicant pool to pitch investors on demo day. The top 3 are announced the next day and proceed to get capital investment within the investor network.

The program has several components.

  • Part 1 Startup Development: First is the accelerator program that includes intense startup development training followed by an online demo day for the top ten companies to pitch investors, press and global accelerator directors.
  • Part 2 Mentorship: Once founders complete the program- they are given access to ongoing startup development training with mentorship from successful entrepreneurs.
  • Part 3 Progress & Investment: Companies are given an opportunity to submit updates on their companies 2x per year to pitch our investor network for capital.

GSE digital accelerators are organized by 7 regional directors and will host all programs this fall. Startups can apply for admission to a digital accelerator via our partner platform F6S by October 1st.  The 2017 accelerator dates are: Asia October 3-5, Caribbean October 17-19, Africa October 24-26, Europe October 30- November 1st, America November 7-9, Middle East November 12-14, Latin America November 21-24.
