April 20, 2017, New York, NY. In an effort to accelerate innovation within the space industry, the Global Startup Ecosystem has partnered with several leading organisations, including the NY Space Alliance to create the first digital online accelerator in Space history. The accelerator program begins with a full series of boot camp workshops covering ideation, product development, marketing, customer acquisition, and funding. The boot camp is then followed by keynotes from astronauts, investors, experts, leading entrepreneurs and researchers connected to the Space ecosystem. The program concludes with a demo day where the top ten innovators pitch in front of prestigious judges from across the world for top prizes and a provision of mentors who focus on actionable training and development.
“The future is digital, so startup ecosystems and innovators need to prepare such virtual innovation, by taking advantage of programs like this one” says Christine Souffrant Ntim, “we launched digital accelerators for entrepreneurs to grow new innovative initiatives that helps both non traditional people and space innovators access global influencers within the Space industry which ultimately closes the resource gap”.
The pilot accelerator program on July 18-20, 2017 will accept 100 innovators/teams out of an applicant pool of thousands. Post the program, data and insights will be sent to regional influencers, incubators, and accelerators to support startup innovation programming in the future.
This program is the first of its kind for Space Innovators: galvanizing entrepreneurs, global thought leaders, investors, and researchers to accelerate innovation and participation in the Commercial Space era.
