GSE- World’s Largest Digital Accelerator Announces Speakers for Fall 2017 Caribbean Cohort

October 17, 2017, Port Au Prince, Haiti- The Global Startup Ecosystem (GSE) has announced the agenda and 10 speakers for the 2nd annual Caribbean digital accelerator. Founded by Forbes 30 Under 30 Entrepreneur, Christine S. Ntim, the Caribbean cohort features finalists from over 18 different countries.

Global Startup Ecosystem (GSE)  returns with the 2nd annual digital startup accelerator for entrepreneurs residing in or seeking to launch a company in the Caribbean.  GSE digital accelerator programs are open to all small businesses, startups, and freelancers. Each application round is rolling admission until the top 100 are selected to complete the program. From the finalist pool, 10 will be selected to pitch investors and influencers on demo day. The top 3 are announced at the conclusion of the program to receive partner prizes, media features, and potential investment.

GSE digital accelerators are organized by 7 regional directors who will be hosting all programs this fall. Startups can apply for admission to a digital accelerator via our partner platform F6S.  The 2017 accelerator dates are:

Georgie-Ann Getton-McKoy is the founder of CaribbeansInTech.  She is a young woman who wears many hats! In her personal life, she has a family and is a senior at CUNY Baruch College. In her professional life, she is a serial entrepreneur, community builder, speaker, author and a Diversity in Tech Enthusiast. She is the founder of Illicit Mind Inc a company that develops initiatives to enable the growth of Black and diverse entrepreneurs and techies. At the moment she is a Community Organizer for Girls Who Code. Her other roles include being the President of the Hack for Baruch Club and the Business Manger for Theater in Motion.

Christine Souffrant Ntim is an award-winning Haitian-American entrepreneur & startup ecosystem expert for emerging markets. Jamie Jimenez has a dynamic background with over 10 years of highly successful corporate experience with a background in business development and client relationship cultivation. He is a deadline-savvy, business-centric, strategic thinker who received his MBA in 2009.  Jamie produced a web-series and an award-winning short film using project management methodologies. He is a recent graduate from New York University with a Masters Degree in Project Management. While attending NYU Jamie won the prestigious President’s Award for Community Service.Originally from New Haven, Connecticut, Jamie Jimenez achieved numerous volunteer awards before the age of 20 years old including a Proclamation from the Mayors Office of New Haven, CT and the Jefferson Award.  Jamie moved to New York City in 2005 and currently resides in Harlem.

I am a Certified Financial Education Instructor, money coach and founder of, a platform that provides personal finance resources for Millennial graduates in the Caribbean and the United States. I created to educate Caribbean Millennials to do better with their money and empower them to reach their financial goals. After graduating with $58,000 in student loans I committed to learning as much as I could about student loans and made a plan to pay off my debt, save and invest. I help Millennials do better with money by providing personal finance and debt payoff coaching. I was motivated by Caribbean Millennials graduates who struggled with understanding their student loans and needed help analyzing their student loan account statements, navigating the repayment process and developing plans to effectively pay off student loan debt. was created to provide the tools graduates need to pay off debt, save, invest and build wealth.  With a career in engineering design, project management and consulting, I have used my professional experience to create a company that empowers Caribbean Millennials graduates to pay off debt, save, invest and build wealth. I also provide consulting services to help Caribbean Financial institutions better serve their Millennial customers and position their institutions to effectively take advantage of the OECS Single Economic Space, as Lead Consultant at YMW Consulting & Project Managers.

Tani Chambers is an award – winning entrepreneur and business strategist leveraging over 20 years experience in experiential marketing, branding, sales & revenue strategy. She is the founder of start-up The SAVI™ a multi-media content platform for female entrepreneurs and GLOBE TREPers™ a travel company that curates destination experiences for entrepreneurs and business professionals worldwide.As a mentor and coach, she provides education and curates events (live and virtual), that fosters peer-to-peer learning, collaboration, and accountability and encourages high- growth and scalability for entrepreneurs at all stages.On the social front, she is dedicated to the success of women in business and advocates for equal economic opportunities, resources, and funding. She forms alliances, builds bridges and leverages her platforms wherever possible to bring awareness to the disadvantages faced by women-owned business and to make change by creating solutions, opportunities and transforming public policy.

Chris Williams

Christopher Williams is CEO of Rockstone Media Group and most recently served as Vice President of the Digital & Diversity Practice at Michael Kelly Associates. Christopher has over 15 years of experience in technology training, business analysis and project management. Christopher began his career at Salomon Smith Barney in Equity Research and since then has held various roles at Michael Kelly Associates, Standard & Poor’s, Robert Half International and Blackstone Group LP.In addition to his financial services and recruiting background, Chris has 20 years of media, publishing and event industry experience. He co-founded and successfully launched one of the most widely read Caribbean community and lifestyle print and online publications in New York, Whereitzat Magazine.  He continues to provide expertise in the areas of media and event production via Rockstone Media Group, a company he co-founded.  In doing so, he and his team create and consult with various health-related campaigns, local organizations, fundraisers and community events. Chris also serves as an advisor to various New York startups and currently serves as a board member of Digital Diversity Network (DDN), a non-profit, whose mission is to advance diversity, create access and champion inclusion within the digital and technology sectors. In addition to his work with DDN, Chris is an advisory board member of the Jumaane Omar Stewart Foundation, a local non-profit which provides scholarships to graduating high school students of Black/African descent, majoring in architecture at an accredited college/university.

Kishshana has worked for social impact organizations where she designed development infrastructures, created diversified fundraising programs, managed high-performing teams and oh yes…raised money! Jacques Bastien: Jacques is an entrepreneur, consultant, and college professor. As a serial entrepreneur, he has founded multiple companies, including boogie, a multicultural marketing agency, and SHADE, an influencer marketing agency. Bastien is also the co-founder of Snappy Booth an event photography company. With his diverse professional background, Jacques consults with companies and teams on personal development, leadership and productivity, he instructs students on how to design mobile apps at the University at Albany, and he teaches freelancers and creatives how to turn their passions into full-time professions.Jacques has been featured in Forbes, Inc. D.K. Smith is managing director at Brooklyn Innovation Center and a founding member of Brooklyn Angels. As a serial entrepreneur, he founded and sold two marketing communications firms. D.K. is an advisor to numerous investors, family offices, and startups. He is the co-producer of Angel Week New York and a judge for the Brooklyn Public Library’s PowerUP! business plan competition. D.K. serves as a mentor to student founders at Columbia’s Almaworks accelerator and the REVC competition at Harvard Business School.

Jan Baker is an entrepreneur who believes that doing good and making a profit are not mutually exclusive. She currently manages the Impact Hub DC, a collective space of social innovators and entrepreneurs and is the CEO of The Innovashion Group, an experience and service design firm that focuses on stylizing the customer journey by bridging human interaction with digital experiences. Over time, she has run, managed and continues to advise early-stage startups and has also played an integral part intrapreneurially on teams within the private sector. Her background consists of roles intersecting business, technology and creativity such as product management/app development, event curation, marketing, international relations, and has worked in different corners of the world on technology and innovation projects. She is committed to mentorship, socially impactful entrepreneurship, impact investing, diversity and inclusion in technology, early STEM programming and breaking the status quo in accessing capital for minority businesses.
